"Literature is my Utopia. Here I am not disenfranchised. No barrier of the senses shuts me out from the sweet, gracious discourses of my book friends. They talk to me without embarrassment or awkwardness." --Helen Keller
Literature is my freedom, and my friend. Books do not judge me, they talk to me, share with me. They tell me words I could not have otherwise heard because I do not think that people can get away with talking as if they were a book, a book can go ons for hours and still keep someone’s attention, where if someone was speaking to me at the length of a book or with the language of a book I would lose interest in them pretty fast. Books can use any format or language and still be loved and cared for by the reader.
A book will not hate you for setting it down, stuffing it into the dark corners of your room, or leaving it on your shelf for years. A book will not judge how it is read, whether it be by touch, by listening, or by sight. A book is your friend for as long as you can keep the pages together.

I have never heard this quote before. You have selected your quote for good reason, explained well here in your first post. What have been your favourite three novels you have ever read? Can you limit it to three?. . .
ReplyDeleteI am in love with this quote! I totally hear where you are coming from. The explaination of why you chose it gives a real feeling ofwhy you love reading and that it's coming from your heart!
ReplyDeleteGood job :)
Your explanation as to why you chose your quote was great! I agree, books are never judgmental and are great friends to have close by. I think books can share with us some of the same lessons and knowledge we get from human friends. This was a great blog! For next time, try to double check your punctuation. Other than that, well done.
